The Challenges
The company had an old website that did not support efficiently adding content or products. Sales were not up to potential due to the rigorous process of managing the catalog, and the steadily increasing costs of email marketing campaigns had rendered them less efficient. Services scheduling was done manually, and product fulfillment was labor-intensive. In the past, several previous developers had attempted to work on various parts of the project, but never brought it to completion.

The Process
An initial overview of the current challenges and future goals was key to assess how to best integrate end-to-end solutions for company-wide processes, and prioritize an immediate increase in company revenue.
After analysis of the operations and functionality of the legacy systems being used, we best determined to start with migrating to a new email marketing platform in order to start saving costs immediately. The migration included all tags, automations, and custom fields, as well as re-strategizing of the targets to create more focused and cost – efficient campaigns.
Since the legacy website was built using frameworks that were not modern, extendable, or adaptive, DeveloCore recommended overhauling it completely to use up-to-date features that could take advantage of more advanced frameworks. This would have the dual benefit of reducing the development time as well as incorporating a more featureful system that would be easier for QAS to operate in the future; reducing both the costs of development and their ongoing cost of operation.
After completely rebuilding the site using up-to-date technologies, the next step to increase client’s revenue was to incorporate a shopping cart that would support sales of QAS’s various catalogs of both physical services and digital products.
For QAS to capitalize on the online store, DeveloCore optimized the site for SEO and increased marketing efforts further by setting up automatic drip campaigns and personalized email sequences that were triggered by different actions on the site.
Due to QAS’s unique position as a provider of both products and services, as well as issuing training certifications, the client wanted to incorporate a way for their certified professionals to offer services from within the company’s system. To achieve this, DeveloCore built a custom specialist directory that QAS can continue to manage, and set up an automatic commission-based affiliate network that would bootstrap the operations needed by affiliates to provide services, while leveraging joint marketing and revenue sharing.
Having affiliate specialists provide consultations introduced an additional revenue stream for QAS, however the scheduling process was performed manually. To streamline the manual scheduling process and alleviate the bottlenecks, DeveloCore implemented an automated scheduling system that booked online appointments automatically with specialists after a customer had purchased a session.
Fulfilling online sales for physical goods was also a challenge we tackled, since the process was labor-intensive. To address that DeveloCore set up a streamlined method using proprietary software that we developed that took advantage of batch processing and shipping of orders, making the process more efficient and preventing human error.
Rapid success in the early phases of work quickly yielded increased demand for further optimizations and development. These additional tasks were spread across a wide array of various business operations, so an Agile approach to project management was crucial to keep the project in scope. Swift incremental changes, followed by result metrics analysis and gauging feedback from QAS was crucial in order to keep the goals focused and in budget.
Importantly, DeveloCore kept development costs low by re-using the optimal existing technologies and frameworks available, often by utilizing multiple complex Zapier flows to integrate several 3rd-party services. This gave us the ability to consistently perform within comfortable margins, giving us the opportunity to find additional junctures to optimize along the way.

Understanding of the business logic and methodologies was key to analyzing all aspects of the business that could and should be technologically optimized, after evaluating ROI considering the cost-benefit analysis. An in-depth understanding of the business processes from end-end and how they interconnect provided valuable insights for identifying where the optimizing of individual components would lead to an even greater sum benefit due to ripple effects and bottlenecks.
The project successfully resulted in an increase in online presence, sales, and repeat customers, and helped QAS leverage its potential strengths better to increase revenue considerably. Automation helped reduce recurring costs and prevent bottlenecks and costly mistakes, while a future-proof design ensures that they can continue reaping results from the system with little to no future maintenance.
